We offer computer classes in the computer lab, which is located on the second floor of the Wirt Library. Space is limited. If you are interested it is a good idea to call and register early.
The Bay County Library System partners with Delta College’s Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center in offering a “Business Start-Up Seminar,” which is held in the Kantzler Community Room at the Wirt Library.
For those who are interested in learning how to research your family history, we partner with the Bay County Genealogical Society in offering beginner genealogy classes.

Accessing Irish Records from North America

Richard M. Doherty will present a lecture about the major sources of genealogical information in Ireland, and methods for accessing these records from North America. The focus will be on the use of online databases and the microfilm holdings of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. A Troy, Michigan resident, Doherty is a professional genealogist, lecturer and author with over 40 years of experience. He is the director of Celtic Quest, LLC and has made 31 research trips to Ireland.
