We are pleased to announce that on Friday, June 3, we will introduce a new service that will be available from OverDrive through our website. A valid Bay County Library System library card will be required.
The OverDrive service will include access to both eBooks and eAudiobooks, including many “hot titles” that will be downloadable to either PCs or Macs and transferable to select portable devices such as most eReaders, select smart phones, IPODs and MP3 players. See our web pages this coming Friday for details.
Ebooks through NetLibrary will still be available. A fundamental difference between eBooks from NetLibrary and eBooks from OverDrive is that eBooks from NetLibrary can only be downloaded to a computer – they cannot be transferred to a mobile device.
**Important** With the coming OverDrive service you will not be able to download eBooks to computers inside the library. You will need to use your computer at home or at work. You will be able to download eAudiobooks from a selected workstation within the library.
