Program Description

Event Details

Celebrate the magic of summer with a fun, interactive storytime for children with Zora Neale Hurston scholar Rae Chesny's new children's book Zora's Garden. As Rae uses her background as an award-winning social education expert to engage children in the traditional art of storytelling, children will have the opportunity to learn about Zora Neale Hurston, her love of gardening, and her life as a child in Eatonville, FL. Everyone will leave with seeds to care for and watch grow!

Rae Chesney's book will also available for purchase and signing!

This program will take place outdoors on the library's lawn as part of our Summer Lawn Series, following Meet Up & Eat Up (be sure to RSVP to receive a free lunch for ages 0-18!). Please bring lawn chairs or a blanket. In case of inclement weather, we will move inside to the Kantzler Community Room.
