Come in and fill out a short form and show some identification with a current address and we will make you a library card on the spot.

Or, go to My Account on the top of the website and click on Register for a temporary card. Come in to any of our branches within thirty days and we’ll make you a permanent card. Every Bay County resident can get a library card for free.

You can check out up to 75 items – which includes a combination of up to 25 media items.

We prefer that you do, but if you forget, we can look up your card if you have other identification.

Most items checkout out for three weeks.  Media items and materials from other libraries may have different due dates.

Yes, as long as they are Bay County Library System items and are not on hold for anyone else. Items will renew for three weeks (see the policy for limits and other info). You can renew by clicking on My Account located at the top of the website or by calling your local branch.

Beginning January 3, 2020, BCLS will offer auto renewal on most checked out items.* The service is automatic, so you do not need to take any action to turn it on. Eligible items will renew one time.

*Items not eligible for auto renew include those borrowed from other libraries, DVDs, items another patron has on hold, eBooks, eAudiobooks, and other downloadable materials.
