Every Bay County resident can get a library card for free! For more information, click here.
You can print and fill out a Library Card Application at home, or stop into one of our branches for one. The application can be found at: https://www.baycountylibrary.org/media/document/1108
After your application is filled out, we will verify your identity and current address with your provided information and get you your library card on the spot.
You can check out up to 75 items – which includes a combination of up to 25 media items. More information can be found here.
We prefer that you do, but if you forget, we can look up your card if you have other identification.
Most items checkout out for three weeks. Media items and materials from other libraries may have different due dates.
Yes, as long as they are Bay County Library System items and are not on hold for anyone else. Items will renew for three weeks (see the policy for limits and other info). You can renew by clicking on My Account located at the top of the website or by calling your local branch.
Beginning January 3, 2020, BCLS will offer auto renewal on most checked out items.* The service is automatic, so you do not need to take any action to turn it on. Eligible items will renew one time.
*Items not eligible for auto renew include those borrowed from other libraries, DVDs, items another patron has on hold, eBooks, eAudiobooks, and other downloadable materials.
