Program Description

Event Details

Jim Gill is a musician and author known for celebrating active play. In concert, Jim strums energizing rhythms on his banjo while everyone sings, claps, and dances along to his silly and inspiring musical games.  Each concert is more than a show to watch – it is an opportunity for play!  Jim promises, in concert, to share a non-stop selection of sing-alongs, dance-alongs, finger plays and tongue twisters.

The concert will also feature a read-along and sing-along of one of Jim’s musical books, May There Always Be Sunshine.  Jim will share artwork that children from across the country have created based on his book and get everyone excited for our very own Bay County “May There Always Be” project in January of 2023!

About Jim Gill

Jim Gill is a musician and author with unique credentials among children's artists.  Jim is a child development specialist, completing his graduate studies in child development at the Erikson Institute of Chicago with a special emphasis on the study of play.  For this reason, each of Jim's recordings and books is created as an opportunity for playful interactions between children and caring adults.  Anyone who has experienced one of Jim's concerts knows that rather than performing for the children, Jim leads everyone to sing and play together.

Jim has released ten award-winning CDs of music play for young children that are favorites in classrooms, family rooms, and playrooms.  Jim is also the author of two children's books.  His first book, May There Always Be Sunshine, has inspired thousands of children across the country to create pages, filled with their own wishes and illustrations, in the same spirit as Jim’s book.

Jim's music is available to stream on many streaming services (Pandora, Spotify, Amazon or Apple Music)! Sample some of his songs here:
