Censorship Is So 1984 -- Read for Your Rights!
Celebrate banned books week and celebrate our right to read and the freedom to access ideas through books, comics, plays, art and more! Since 1982, libraries have observed Banned Books Week to bring awareness to attempts to censor materials and ideas, while also encouraging readers to engage with these materials. This is done to help ensure our continued ability to have free and open access to information and promote our continued freedom to do so.
