During the library closure, our staff has been coming up with new ways to connect with you at home! Here's just a few of the places you can find us online, right from the comfort of your own chair!

Storytime!

Miss Dani from the Sage Branch has been putting together wonderful storytimes - from her home to yours! She covers themes from classic folktales to being brave, with lots of wonderful music and early literacy fun. As of writing, she has 11 storytime videos on her YouTube channel here.

Puzzles & Read-Alongs for Elementary and Middle-Graders

Miss Stephanie from the Auburn Area Branch combined her love of brain teasers with a book chock-full of puzzles in its own right to bring you this video series. Each video features a puzzle to solve with your family, from riddles to matchstick puzzles to some sneaky math... After each puzzle, read along with her in The Gollywhopper Games by Jody Feldman. Want your own copy? Download it from Hoopla using your library card.

BCLS Stay-at-Home Book Club

Miss Emily from the Sage Branch has put her love of books online, with regular questions to get great discussions going and fun challenges to get the creative juices flowing. What would your desert-island book be? Can you create a 90s-style glamour shot for your favorite? Join us to share why we should all read your favorite quarantine read!

Digital Escape Rooms

Use all your escape room skills in these escape rooms-gone-virtual. Completely free to play, we're letting you test your knowledge and critical thinking skills all at once, with puzzles for the whole family. The first escape room, Books Alive! Escape the Rhymes, follows a nursery rhyme theme, but don't let the theme fool you - a few of the steps are pretty tricky. More games are coming soon!

To keep up with all the great projects coming from your library, make sure that you're connected with us on Facebook at our Bay County Library SystemBay County Library System Children's, and Bay County Library System Teen pages. Plus, subscribe to our brand-new BCLS Children's YouTube channel for the videos above (and a few more fun surprises)! We can't wait to connect with you!
